The Adventures of Enough-Man
by Jon Moore
Enough-Man is a celebration of mediocrity and an educational platform to be used to educate “Men” on some basic skills needed for everyday life. Many “Men” simply don’t know how to knot a tie. How to change a tire. How to hold a woman when you dance. What some basic functions of tools are/do. How to wear/choose a proper fitting suit. How to wear one’s pants and still look cool without them “sagging” past yer ass, etc. How to read a map/compass navigation the ‘old fashioned’ way (You’re welcome ladies). It is sometimes expected that men know these things already. There’s a laundry list of reasons on why many men simply have missed out on learning some of these basic skills and many men are simply too “manly” to admit they don’t possess this knowledge already.
This is all ok, because we've, Enough Man! Enough Man is a superhero for the everyday man. He simply does Enough. Enough to not get fired from his job. Enough to stay in good standing with his fiancee. Enough to stay out of trouble and do the right things and that's ENOUGH-MAN!!
History
Years ago, I was trying to start up a magazine. I called it, "Don't Read This Magazine". It was a magazine on useless trivia and stupid facts. You know, pretty much everything that rules the internet now. But this was circa 2001-2003 or so. Print wasn't dead in the least. The print doomsayers were treated much like any other conspiracy theorist at the time. This 'internet' thing doesn't have the infrastructure to topple the almighty print. It's not nearly as practical either. Little did everyone know what Johannes Gutenberg had been reborn as Steve Jobs and was about to revolutionize the world, just like what he did in 1453. Anyhow....
At the end of the magazine, I had this little comic series which was, "the Adventures of Enough-Man!" The superhero who just does, Enough! It was a gag really. But it struck a chord with many folks I knew. It became a commentary on everyone who seemed to be just phoning it in. Revelling in mediocrity.
I wrote about 12-13 of these comics. I've them in storage, somewhere. If I find them, I’ll digitize them or update them and post them up. This video was shot as sort of a pilot for YouTube. I was going to start an ‘enough man’ channel before anyone had any ideas you could make money on YouTube as a YouTube influencer. I shot it, shopped it around and no one gave a crap. So, here it is. Now…I’m Enough Dad! Maybe that’s what it should’ve been all along?
